Book Project

At the beginning of the school, we were given books that the library was discarding to destroy for art class.  I covered this page with blue and green for a background color.  Then used a design roller with black paint and wrote Faith with silver sharpie.

For this page I did a design of a peacock feather with orange, blue, purple, brown, and green markers.

Photo Assignments

Bugs eye view: Take a picture from a bugs point of view; not of a bug.  Took a picture from the bottom of my windshield.

Stranger:  Take a picture of someone you don't know.  I took a picture of  a little girl at a graduation party that was literally bouncing off of the walls in a bouncy house.

Sun glare/ lens flare: Take a picture with light glaring.  Took a picture of the sky from the back of the school parking lot.

Spring:  Take a picture of something that has to do with spring.  Took a picture of a flower on a bush in our backyard.

Choice:  Take a picture of anything you want.  Took a picture of the sunrise from the gravel road I live on.

Shadow:  Take a picture of a shadow.  Took a picture of a tree's shadow in my front yard.
Before and after:  Take a picture of something that is before and after.  I took a picture of hair when it was down and then when it was put up in a bun (picture below this caption is the before)

Silhouette: Take a picture of a silhouette.  I took a picture of the silhouette of the trees and shed in our yard.

Framing with objects:  Use objects to frame something else.  I took a picture of my little sister surrounded by flowers as the framing.

For this project we were told to create something abstract.  I chose to paint a random background using pink, blue, green, and white paint.  I then used black sharpie to partially draw a tree with birds flying away from it/

I personally found this assignment to be one of my favorites this year.  Our teacher decided to introduce us into using spray paint as a medium.  I used purple, black, blue, white, and clear spray paints to make this piece.  I only made on of these "spray paint worlds", but I would like to experiment on my own time with this medium.
Mrs. Dewitt told us to use ink as a medium and let us go where ever we wanted from there.  I used blue pen and black sharpie to create an abstract piece. The diamond on top reflects the bottom one but with a ring added to its surrounding. It's symbolic to me, but is open to your own interpretation.

Photo Assignment: Window Portrait
We were supposed to take a picture of something with the light shining through on it through a window.  I used a chair by the window in the band room.
For this project we were supposed to give a new perspective.  I showed what a pier looks like when a person lays on their stomach farther away from the end.  Also added a sunset.  Used watercolor forr the sunset and oil pastel for the pier.
:
For this project we were told to paint a scene on an unusual medium.  I painted a sunset scene with a gravel road on a CD.
 Photo Assignment: Simplicity
For simplicity we were supposed to take a object and make it the center of attention by giving it a simple background.  I took a picture of my sister's teddy bear on the kitchen counter.
 Photo Assignment: Negative Imaging
For this assignment we needed a simple object with a "busy" background.  I took a picture of my sister's ring that was sitting on my mom's purse.
Photo Assignment: Kids
Needed to take a picture of children under the age of 11.  I took a picture of my little brother and sister sharing the foot massager.

Photo Assignment: Recreate an Old Photo
I used an old picture of me and my sister on my birthday when she gave me a scrapbook that she made completely by hand.  I still have that scrapbook today, so we took a picture in the same place with the same scrapbook.....puberty is a wonderful thing....
Mrs. DeWitt gave a us a choice to do whatever kind of project we wanted.  I choose to make a girl holding a lantern surrounded a confusing darkness.  I used a combination of chalk and black and white paint.
