At the beginning of the school year we were given books that the library was going to throw away and told to fill the pages with whatever we wanted (we had to have 10 pages done by the end of the semester).  For this page I rewrote the title of one of my favorite movies "Corpse Bride" and then surrounded it with famous quotes from the movie.

I dedicated this page to one of my best friends who is a German exchange student who will be going back home next year.  It reads "Ich werde dich niemals vergessen" which is German for "I will never forget you".  I then colored the rose with colors of her choice.

This page is portrayal of sadness.  The words under her say "Let the pain rain down".

We were assigned to take a picture of food outside of class.  I took a picture of an earthquake brownie blizzard that I made at work.

We were also told to take a picture of a family member but it couldn't be a picture that they posed for.  I took a picture of my little sister, Sophie, drawing a fogged up window.

We were required to take photos that had a bright object with a dull background.  With the right photo this can create a pop of color.

We were required to take photos using a new perspective.  These photos show things from a different point of view to make you look at things in a new way (or perspective).

Our art class made projects that were in honor of Veteran's Day.  I made a soldier handing off the folded flag to the wife a deceased soldier.  The ring on her hand implies she is married.  I used chalk, oil pastels, ebony pencil, and regular pencil.

In class we were supposed to complete a project to enter in a contest.  I choose a vampire.  I made her cry blood and is wearing a victorian dress which is cloaked.  She is also holding a heart which may be the cause of her crying.

About Me

About Me

I spent most of the summer with my family, so I'm very ready to get back to school because I need a break from them!  My hobbies include volleyball, reading, and drawing!  I'm hoping to learn a little more about photography and learn some new techniques to improve my drawing abilities!  Currently, my favorite technique for drawing is just regular pencil and paper with some shading, but I'm hoping to expand my abilities this year!  I think art is a beautiful form of expression and comes in many forms...some more interesting than others, but expressive none the less!  I look forward to another year of creating art in Mrs. Dewitt's class!
